Which is better to clean carpets - steam cleaning or chem dry?
carpet steam cleaning must be done to remove dirt and other harmful bacteria and germs from the carpet where as dry cleaning is for drying the carpet quickly................

I think steam vacuum cleaner is the best choice. I use ML-SV093S , it works well.
Defiantly steam clean them. If you are talking about the spray foam like you can get in a can and do it your self. You will accomplish cleaning them some. But what you actually end up doing is to make the carpet look better, but the foam is pressed into your carpet and left to dry (embedded) in your carpet. Not only does it leave residue in the carpet, it also caused dirt ,spills. etc to build up on your carpet quicker than it did before.
