Question:

Is sweating pipe a thing of the past?

With commercial applications going to compression fittings, new homes builders going to less expensive PEX tubing and many plumbers using Sharkbite fittings to save labor hours what applications do you see sticking with soldered copper in the future?

Answer:

lightly sand the outside with a fine grade sandpaper. Clean extinguisher after sanding then apply the paint. Be sure not to paint any gauges or the hose while doing it. On most extinguishers the hose will unscrew from the handle/valve. Try not to paint over any labels on the extinguisher also as these are important for future servicing of it if needed. If the extinguishers is badly pitted by rust or has any major dents then it needs to be discarded. Remember it may save your life one day (unless using it for an ornament).
