i believe its just a form of plastic or something close to that.
ONCE. Then get it recharged.
One short use should not empty it, but once the seal is broken, you don't know how much of the chemical or propellant is left. Best to replace or refill after any usage.
Pull the pin and spray the fire, hopefully near the base of it cause you are trying to put the ign source out.
Fire extinguishers should be recharged (or if they are the cheap ones, replaced) after any use. Even if there is still a partial charge left in the extinguisher, you do not want to count on it in an emergency. If you spray a short shot, it would still be usable, but would not have as much capacity to fight fire. In a situation where you have to use an extinguisher, you want to be sure that it will work. Knocking the fire down, but not being able to totally extinguish it (due to the extinguisher not having enough capacity) will allow the fire to grow again, and more damage to be done to the building. Do not count on a used extinguisher.
