Question:

just bought a 1991 Lexus LS400. The struts need to be replaced. What do I need to do this?

The electronic suspension system no longer works. He said they sell a manual replacement kit on the internet. Where do I find this (Please give websites) Once I buy the kit, how much is it going to cost me at the shop for labor?

Answer:

Unfortunately if you replace the Struts with ordinary struts it will no longer be standard and will no longer comply with the ADRs. Any accidents etc will most likely not be covered by your insurance. You need to repair the electronic suspension control and fit the appropriate matching struts. Any changes from standard will need to be certified by an Automotive Engineer.
easy to just call a few shops to get a local price if its rear really easy anyone should be able to replace front more of a shop job and dangerous to do at home if not knowing how price might be a couple hundered
