Question:

looking for the best price on a 19 LCD monitor?

I am in the final stages of building my computer, I'm now in the market for a decent 19 LCD monitor. Can anyone recommend a good brand/website for a price aroung 150.00? Thanks.

I would go to Tiger Direct or Newegg. I just went and browsed both sites and found at least a dozen monitors in your price range. If possible, look for the Acer 19'', which I bought last year for about 155$. It is a very nice entry level LCD, and I am very pleased with it. I work in graphics design, and it suits my needs nicely.
I would suggest staying away from the cheapest LCDs unless you want to chance having little green red etc dots on your display that never go away. There's something called pixel criteria that most manufacturers go by that basically says that they will not exchange a monitor unless you have at least 8 dead pixels. The crystals on an LCD are controlled by transistors that govern what angle the crystal is at thus producing the various colors as the light shines thru them. If a transistor doesn't work the crystal it controls is stuck at a certain angle so you have a dead pixel meaning a dot of any color that is on your monitor in the same spot that never goes away. The cheaper the monitor the better chance you have of getting one with one or more dead pixels. I suggest that you go to a store that sells them and find the model that you like and see if the salesperson will get the boxed one youre gonna buy and pull it out and let you look at it fired up so you can make sure you wont's spend the next few years looking at a monitor with a little dot or dots on the screen. You can go to a plac e like newegg(the best) and read the reviews of the people who bought the LCD you're looking at and see if any of them bought monitors with dead pixels. I have bought 2 Samsungs and a Viewsonic and none of the three had any dead pixels which was a relief everytime I fired one up for the first time.
