Question:

Metal Music?

I will give someone as many points as possible if you give me a scale (lightest to heaviest) of types of metal music like heavy, black, thrash, etc.

Answer:

Dont forget Death Metal (Death, Morbid Angel) to Meldodic Death (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity) to Metalcore (Zao, Heaven Shall Burn) to Deathcore (Despised Icon, Job For A Cowboy) And Early black metal (Celtic Frost, Mercyful Fate), to Second Wave Black Metal (Mayhem, Darkthrone, Satyricon), to Ambient groups (Xasthur) to Blackened Death (Behemoth, Melechesh) Dont forget Power Metal and Symphonic and Sludge and Stoner... Hell, even Thrash metal is making a comeback with Hatchet, 3 Inches of Blood, etc... And it will go on forever...
Saying metal will never die out is like saying music will never die out. You can trace the roots of Metal all the way back to ragtime if you want. As long as musicians listen to music before they sit down and write songs of their own, the different genres of music, including Metal will evolve and move forward in new and interesting forms. The question is not whether Metal will never die out? The question instead is: Will you at some future point find the songs that evolved from Metal to be so different from the Metal that you know and love that you declare it to no longer be Metal by your definition?
No, metal will never die out. Just like Jazz, Classical, Classic Rock, Folk, Rap, Hip Hop, and everything else will never die out. Everything progresses, be it for better or for worse. Peace.
