Question:

My car is stuck in cruise control.Help!!!!?

I don't know if this will cause serious damage or not, I know it's messing with my brakes and I know that when I put my car in park it revs up. I have pushed the brake and I've even hitt he off switch for th cruise control. My car is a 1993 Mercury CougarI really need to know how to fix this, if anything just to remove cruise control permanently.

Answer:

tranny bad now, check ur key switch, and able to lock and unlock ur ignition also
You have a problem by what you stated, but it is NOT your cruise causing the problem. Have it repaired, most likely a simple repair job.
could be a stick idle control valve or the accelerator is stuck
The most common fault here is the cruise control module. It has obviously had a major brain pharte and must be replaced. In the meantime, simply go under the hood and disconnect the cable from the cruise control servo where it attaches to the throttle linkage. After you have done that remove the electrical plug from the unit too.
