This Site Might Help You. RE: Can you use a smoke detector in a garage? The home I bought has an attached garage and I would like to put a smoke detector in it. I have been told that it's better to use a heat detector in a garage instead of a smoke detector, but having trouble finding a heat detector locally. I wouldn't be warming up the car in the garage. I
I would just to get out of New York. Besides, it'll only be several months in Miami until Loria trades me to a contender at the deadline.
Putting a smoke detector in your garage is a good idea. The only problem is hearing it when it goes off. It should be tied in with your other smoke detector alarm(s) so you can hear it inside the house.
The garage is just like any room in the house. I don't know why people would say you may not be able to hear it. Especially if the garage is an adjoining room in the house. It's like saying you won't hear a smoke alarm in the kitchen if your in the bedroom. A room is a room , put it in if you want.
