Question:

Parking brake and ABS light come and stay on?

I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500HD earlier today I was leaving work as I was leaving I spun the tires (burned out) (rock driveway) this isnt the first time I did this but after a minute or so myParking brake and ABS light came on. I came home researched on the internet. it was about 30 minutes I let it set then I went ride about 2 miles then came back home and the lights never came on. About two hours later I went out on a call (I am a volunteer firefighter)On the way to the call at a red light the lights came one. Then got on scene I turned my vehicle off it reset it self then Back on my way home it never came on even pumped the brakes (while in park) they never came on. Checked my brake fluid like some people said and its in between max an fill. So what may be the problem?

Answer:

One of your ABS sensors is probably bad or going bad. It will cause the brake light to come on as well since the abs system is tied into the brakes. There is also an abs pump under the hood that may be starting to fail, very common problem on those trucks. Of course have it checked out but don't worry your brakes should still work just fine. Good Luck
