Question:

Possible to change the oil Honda Civic 2007 without a lift or any special tools?

Honda Civic Sedan 2007 Is it possible to change the oil without any prior knowledge or experience from doing so? I don‘t have a professional car jack/lift, other than the stock jack provided in the trunk.

Answer:

1: jack it up 2: remove drain plug 3: let oil drain 4: reinstall drain plug 5: remove oil filter 6: lubricate gasket of new filter with new oil 7: install new filter 8: lower car back down 9: fill with appropriate amount of oil (consult manual or internet) 10: fire it up and let the fresh oil lubricate the engine
Yes, you can, it's a pretty easy job. Look it up on Youtube to see how it is done. Almost all cars cars are similar for oil changing. Do not crawl under a car that is being supported only by the tire changing jack - that is not safe!!
It's theoretically possible, but I would strongly recommend against it. To be honest, you don't sound very knowledgeable or competent. It is easy to strip or cross-thread the drain plug, and to over- or under-tighten the filter - which is full of hot oil. If a leak resulted from improper work, your engine would fail, causing thousands of dollars of damage. Do you even know what brand or viscosity of oil to use? Or what to do with all the toxic used oil? Furthermore, the weak, flimsy jack that came with the car is for emergency tire changes ONLY and is NOT safe to use for any other purpose. You can decide if being a cheapskate is worth being crippled or killed if the car falls on you. Just go to an oil change place (or better, your nearest Honda dealer) and get it done.
