Question on the Lee Classic Loader (357 Magnum)?

Anyone have experience with this? Thoughts on this? Can I do .38 special with the .357 mag loader or do I need to buy both?

Answer:

It should work with 38 specials and 357 magnums the casings are about the same size at the bottom
I looked into the Lee Classic Loader at one time, and I believe that I found out that the .38 sp set will work for the .357 but not vice versa. The .357 case is .135 longer if I did my math correctly. With a press, you just screw the .38 sp dies out two turns and they work for .357.
I'm not sure here but the mag is more powerful and may...note I said MAY have a longer casing...if you have the die check the instructions or maybe the label if it doesn't say .38 spl/ .357Mag I wouldn't try it... a good general rule of thumb is.... get the right die...
As I recall, you run out the crimp to do magnums, and run in for the Specials. I'm pretty sure that it does both.
No directions on the website. If you have the directions that came with it, consult them. There are different part numbers for each caliber. The only thing I would know to do is try it. If it works, OK, but if it don't. that will have to be OK, too.
