Question:

right rear weel has no brake.?

2001 s40 volvo. after checking my brake system, there is no brake fluid going to the r.rear weel at all from the abs unit. What can cause that?

Answer:

The ABS is supposed to default to conventional braking, so I don't suspect the ABS to be the problem. There's a proportioning valve between the front and rear brake fluid lines. I would bleed the brakes and see if the right rear wheel bleeds normally. It's best to have a professional technician and garage do the brake bleeding.
Remove the brake hose from the brake caliper to see if there is any fluid entering the caliper. If there is no fluid coming out of the hose it sounds as if it's time to replace the hose and flush the water-logged brake fluid from the system.
a leak in the line or hose. it could all be going out on the ground when you hit the brakes. now if there are no brakes on both back wheels then it could be a bad master cylinder.
