Question:

RISD ceramics major?

i know the undergrad ceramics program at risd is extremely small. does anyone know how difficult it is to get in?

Answer:

I have tried the iron method before and brown paper over it to absorb the wax when it melts, it worked for me!
Candle wax is a tough stain to get out, most of the time it doesn't come out. You should just buy a new table cloth.
Use a blow dryer on high heat to melt the wax. Then dab it off with a paper towel. Don't wipe the wax, or it will just smear.
According to the admissions site, you don't have to declare a major until second semester freshman year, so I don't think you have to apply as a ceramics major and be sure about it. In fact, they might like it that you're looking at one of the smaller programs because the more students that join the ceramics program, the more well known it will be. The overall acceptance rate for RISD is 33%. Good luck- if you get in, Providence is a great town!
