Question:

Service Light is on my Chevy Cavalier?

I have a 2001 chevy cavalier. Yesterday, when i was driving to work the service light showed up on the dashboard. Today when the light turned on. I heard a clicking sound and saw the headlight flicker and then the service light turns on. If i start driving with the heardlights on, the service light doesn‘t come on . Any ideas what the issue might be?

Answer:

The factory puts on different brands of tires, so you'll need to find the warranty. Or go to a store that sells the brand of tires you have.
Yeah, go used and get something better. The Pontiac Vibe would be a good pick since it and the Toyota Matrix are the same car. I'd look at something like a Mazda 3. Oh and in 06 the Chevy Aveo(G3s cousin) was the most reliable car in it's class. Yes, more reliable than the Yaris and Fit.
sounds like something is wrong with the alternator. maybe the belt is loose or the voltage regulator is sticking inside the alternator.
Instead of asking us to guess, take it to an auto parts store and have them read the trouble code. That's what it's for--to eliminate guessing.
All of the auto part stores I know of can only do a generic code scan of power train codes. I think you will have to go to a mechanic to have your body control module scanned for codes. If I were forced to make a guess here I would think you are having a problem with your daytime running lamps system.
