Question:

Should i buy this cold air intake ? ?

K so i have 1 problem. My car is 2005 Honda Civic LX (manual) the air intake brand is Spyder and its for 01-04 Honda Civic DX, now im wandering if this air intake will work on my car.

Answer:

I would not suggest getting it. There could be critical differences between the one you need and the one you are looking at. I would suggest making sure that you get one for a 05.
Is the airflow sensor and air filter box one piece? If so it might not work. One thing about cold air intakes on newer cars is many times you will actually lose power because the computer is getting a different reading of air flow than what it was designed for. A larger diameter intake pipe will actually slow the speed of air flowing. Imagine blowing the same volume of air through a narrow straw vs a wide straw. Blowing the same amount of air through a narrow straw will create a faster flow of air. Your computer is set to read a volume of air flowing through a narrower intake. A larger intake pipe is better, but you absolutely must reprogram your computer so that it recognises a bigger intake and will adjust air fuel ratio appropriately. My friend installed an AEM intake on 2007 RSX and he actually lost 6hp at the wheels on a dyno test. After doing an ECU reflash, he ended up making 11hp over the stock power.
