my system has six(6) ac detectors with battery back-up. one of them beeps at intervals. i need to shut that sucker up before it drives me crazy!! help me please!
Eric Weissteins is a GREAT reference for physics stuff.
I'm not sure what your question is. If you understand special relativity then you understand the term space-time. The classic example used to explain curved / warped space-time and general relativity is to imagine space-time as a rubber sheet that is stretched flat and level. Now imagine a bowling ball (let's call this the sun) placed on the sheet. It deforms right? Now if you roll a marble (call that a planet or photon) when it gets in proximity to the bowling ball and then it's course is deflected. The more severely distorted the rubber, the greater the influence on the marble. This is not due to gravity as suggested by Newton, but it is due to the warping / curved space-time as suggested by Einstein. That is why a photon which has no mass and shouldn't be influenced by gravity IS influenced by curved space-time. A very interesting subject, please read up on it!
