Our alarm has a space labeled STAY below the 3 button. When we are home and want the perimeter alarm without the sensors we punch in our code and STAY or 3 instead of the normal AWAY button. This allows us free movement in the house with the protection. If you open a door without turning it off you will go into alarm sequence just as if you had entered the house with the alarm on. Turn it off in the same way you normally do. Look for the STAY button on your keypad and try it out. However, I do not believe you will be able to arm your alarm with the STAY feature and leave the house as there is no time delay sequence with this setting allowing you to get to the door. My alarm company has been very helpful to us with our questions, you may want to ask them if you can have your system reprogrammed to meet your specs. Ask if they can give you a bypass code that will allow you to program for three ways, for when you are there, when only your cats are there and for when all of you are gone. You never know until you ask.
hi if you are stuck in the snow, it actually helps to shift gear 2. Because if you are in the lowest gear or in D, your tires might spin too fast. when driving down a steep mountain, it sometimes helps to shift into gear 2 as well. Don't shift into gear 1 because that's TOO low. Gear 3 won't help you. If you keep it in D, you probably will be ok, depending on how smart your car's computer is. Usually, keeping it in D is the safest way, but like i said, sometimes 2 is better if you have the frame of mind to shift when you need to. Yes, 1 is the lowest gear. I would not shift into 1 if you are going faster than maybe 25 mph.
