Nearly got done with the driveway and it stopped throwing snow. I seen a little spring on the snow. It was in the shop at least 6 times last year but this is the first problem I've had this year. It is about 8 years old. Time for a new one or should I continue to invest in this one?

modifying the circuits of a smoke detector will result in a non-functioning unit that you can't depend on. Smoke detectors draw a small sample of air through a sensor, which is read by the circuits. They are also relatively cheap. If you suspect the unit is not working right you should replace it immediately. You life could be on the line if it fails.
Pretty sure that now it's going to turn into the opposite sex. or maybe like a jamie jee curtis thing. I saw this happen in the parking lot of babies r us.
