Im located in the penninsula (northern california).i would like to donate clothes, canned foods, blankets, etc to the shelters.who can i donate to? i called my local redcross chapter and 1. they only take monetary donations; 2. not 100% of our money will go to so-cal cross takes a percentage for their fees (wtf?!). can you please email me of where i can donate? i would love to give money, but im a college student :( i can help with my time to ship stuff off or bring in items. thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is very kind of you to want to help those affected by these fires, but help is simply not needed in shelters. The majority of people evacuated will be able to go back home within several days. The few people whose homes have been lost are wealthy and can take care of themselves. Maybe you should try with other causes?
