Question:

Softest worsted weight yarn for a scarf?

A great friend of mine has been helping me out a lot lately and I want to knit a combinations of scarves I know he likesThe perfect scarfI need suggestions for a really, really soft worsted weight yarn.I suspect the scarf will be worn more inside than out, so the yarn doesn't have to be weather proof really at all. Thanks!

Answer:

Mine are 3 and 4We generally spend under $100 on each - but I probably blow that when Ill buy little trinkets and books and dont realize how much they add upWhat Id really like for them, is some kind of gaming system, not like a Wii, but a mix between something like a Fisher Price Star Station -with the camera, and the Wii like stuff, where they can do more fitness type game playing - however dont think anything like that is out yetSo may just go with the Star StationThe other thing you could look at would be something like a train table, or geotrax on OKorderI got a great table and set at a rummage sale, and keeps both my boys busy togetherAnd thats good to gell people to tet them accesorriesOr one thing like a kitchen for all of themThen get one the food, one a placesetting, etcIkea's got a pretty cool/cheap set of table and chairs.
Well My kids are a Bit older than yours.I have a Son who will be 23 tomorrow and for him and bis wife this year I am getting a gift card from there favorite Movie place,There always renting moviesMy Daughter who is 16 wants some cd's,Dvd and gift cards My Son who will be 13 a week before Christmas wants Pokemon and Iron man and ds gamesFor your kids this is pretty simple and cheap,Here a few suggestionsLearning games Lego's Barber dolls DVDs of there favorite cartoons for the 4 month old baby toys and don;t go all out because he or she is small and will not know what to do with them just yet.
My kids get to muchI have 2 boys and they have so far gotten a nintendo DS and about 3 games eachWe have also purchased the 3 year old the black and decker tool tableThe 8 year old has gotten game boards and some other stuff he mentionedThey both have gotten some action figuresWe also purchased 2 of the mini play-sets from Teenage mutant ninja turtles that they asked forCant seem to find the other twoSOLD OUT EVERYWHERE UGH LOLAnd well there is still time from here to DEC and we will wind up getting morePlus both my boys bdays are in DEC so we get things for the bdays too Do you have girls or boys? They are so close in age you can probably buy one thing to share and some small little action figures if boys or dolls if girls?
I have gone overboard this year for my early two year old so, he has so many presents, I have spent around ?250 on him, way too much, I'm an impulse buyer and when I see something I'll think he'll like i buy it, I also think it's because he's my first child and I don't know when to stop buying for him, next year I think I will keep to a much tighter budgetAnyhow what have I got him, I have bought him Elmo Live, Little People Garage, a big tonka truck, Mr Potato Head (thought this would be great for teaching body parts and where they are) A learn to Dress Noddy doll, Megabloks bucket and lots of stocking fillers like puzzles, crayons, paper to colour, books, little people accessoriesLuckily his birthday is in February so I can keep some back for then and even give him some throughout the year
The softest would be an angora/merino blend or cashmereCria or baby alpaca would also be soft (Frog Tree alpaca is widely available)You can find any of these fibers in a variety of weightsYou might look for one called cashmerino which is widely availableCheck your yellow pages for a specialty knitting shopThey'll have a wider selection of the premium yarns than a craft store willThey can also advise you on the best yarn for your projectIf you don't have one near you, try one of the following online stores: Halcyon Yarn Yarn Barn Paradise Fibers Webs I've put them in order based on how much assistance I think you would get in making a good selection over the phoneI think you're most like to find a chatty experienced knitter at Halcyon.
