Why not excavate one of the heads, dig down along side and see how deep the lateral pipe is. Also note which way the pipes run. You may have to do a little look see on several heads to get an idea how the underground laterals run. If you bust some pvc pipe by accident, you cut out the booboo and glue in a replacementwith fittings on either side. Some pipe lets you repair with a compression fitting. Good experience as soon or later you'll have to repair something.
