We are trying to decide between the two. Tile floors will cost us $2000 and Bamboo $4000. If we do the tile we can also get new kitchen coutertops. We have a baby and two dogs. Which one would you put in your house? (We are def. putting carpet in all bedrooms).
Definately go with the tile, it will be so much easier to clean, plus you will get a new counter. Wood is very hard to maintain when you have kids.
you want a soft floor without extra that a million/sixteen" to a million/8" variance. at last, the grooves interior the ceramic floor will coach on the bamboo - or the different laminate form flooring - floor. you do no longer unavoidably ought to get rid of the tile, you need to pour self-leveling concrete over the tile, then lay the bamboo over that. although, that does strengthen the floor critically, inflicting different problems.
Depending on what tile you get it can be very cold and hard to clean. Its a very hard surface. If it was not for your dog Id get the bamboo as it is very easy to clean. I dont like cold or hard floors. Bamboo is warm and beautiful and you dont have to worry about dropping something on it so much.
Go with tile floors considering that you've got kids and you need to put carpets. Bamboo floors generally work well in rest houses and similar places. Tiles are easier to clean and maintain.
With dogs and a baby (especially the dog) I'd get the tile. VERY easy to clean. This way you can also get the new kitchen countertops!
