If Tires are built 47 week of 04, can they be installed on a vehicle built 12/04? Or is there a curing period for tires before being installed. I‘m trying to find out if this 2005 Dakota built 12/04 as already seen it‘s second set of tires.
I assume the dot code you are reading is 4704 and tires are ready to go from the factory shipping and installation takes the timeI
Hi Dave, I'd check stuff like the tracking camber etc. if it is burning up tyres. (spelt with a Y), or go for a more pricy set. I put some cheap Dutch tyres on a motor a couple of months ago, and they are now pretty much knackered. Waste of money. No tyres required on a narrowboat, apart from the one on the back for bumping into things. All the best, Bob the Boat
it is possible but not as likely. Your next set could possibly have a similar date, but again, less likely. It is good you are looking at tire dates to ensure you are not running on old tires. There is no aging treatment for tires, once they're out of the autoclave and cooled to room temperature (and inspected) they're good to go.
