Answer:

It's your air intakeIt feeds air into the engineThe purpose of the tube is to draw cold air from away from the engine in and to prove a smooth, uniform flowWithout the tube, hot air from around the engine will feed in unevenlyThis could result in reduced horsepower or reduced fuel economy, especially in hot weather.
$25 each? Look, I understand you want a color change on the hardware, but this is not going to be an upgrade with that price budgetMost of the parts on the EC-1000 are standard sizesHowever, the parts are already top of the lineThe bridge is a Tone Pros bridge, the tuners are locking SperzelsThe knobs are kinda standard, but made of good materialFor a direct replacement of the bridge/knobs/tuners, you are looking at around $180-$200There really aren't any upgrades for the tuners other than maybe the Steinberger 40:1 tunersTone Pros makes a top of the line bridgeThe upgrade may be debatable with going with a graph tech bridge or a roller bridge, but the bridge on the EC-1000 is already around $40-$60 I thinkYour knobs are standard 1/4.
