Got in a car accidentslid back and forth from railing of bridge and median.liability only so my insurance company is going to pay for the bridge but not my carlooks like only a broken axle.about how much would that cost me2000 Suzuki Grand Vitara.i just turned onto a bridge so no i was not speedingcop even called the salt trucks because he said the bridge was dangerousis the city responsible in any way?.

Answer:

Unfortunately for you the city has no liability whatsoever. Your lack of traction could have been caused by faulty tires, driver error, or a whole list of other things as far as they're concerned. The only way you would have a case is if several other people got in a similar accident on the bridge and the city failed to properly de-ice it. The axle shouldn't be too bad, if it's a front axle and only on one side expect to pay around $250 - $300 at most auto shops. I wouldn't be so quick to be certain of the damage however, if it was hard enough to break an axle it was hard enough to do some other damage. Make sure the mechanic that works on the vehicle understands what happened, all of the front suspension should be checked, brake lines, etc. Hope this helps!
City's have a program to take complaints about roads. Call the city traffic control dept and see if that is the case. The repair is not that expensive.
No unfortunately you are the responsible party for repairs to your automobile. If it is a cv drive axle the costs are usually around $250 to $400 dollars depending on 4 wheel drive or not.
