I was somewhat frustrated looking for a purely SDHC card reader that plugs directly into a USB 3.0 port (Rather than a wire leading to the hub) until I came across something that said SD class 10 cards only transfer at 10 MB/s. Is this true or am I misinterpreting it? If so what is the point of USB 3.0 readers at all, why not just use 2.0 readers?
Maybe someday there will be SD cards that can transfer at 5Gbps. Until then, those card readers that claim to be USB 3.0 ready have no performance advantage as even a USB 2.0 with 480Mbps (60MB/s) transfer speed will do for a Class 10 SD card.
