I need to replace the speakers on my son’s Video Rocker Gaming chair which are damaged. Can I use car speakers as replacements? The specs on the speakers removed are 5 inches in diameter, 4 ohms and 8 watts.
It depends on the wattage of the amp in the chair and also the sensitivity of the power acoustic driver...If the chair only has 8 watts then you want a very sensitive driver...Sensitivity is rated as Db and is usually measures at one metter with one watt a score of 90db and above is good...if the drivers are only rated at 87 db or less I would not use them between 87db and 90db maybe but I would look for a more sensitive driver if you can....The Kenwood KFC 1365S has a sensitivity of 91Db
