it is flat, board is 2x6 interlock wood. no plywood on top. what will are material to use. we went to locate stores to check, one said tar and gravel, can not diy, another one said put base sheet and storm guard (rubber type material). we want to do it. which one is the esay and how?

If its the same as the ones on the F-150s and I'll bet it is, the actuator is mounted on the latch itself. There is a means of removing it without first removing the latch but my experience is its much easier to do with the latch out of the door. The panel can be removed without any special tools other than a Phillips screwdriver. Don't know if there's an E-150 forum but you'll find complete details on the job at one of the F-150 forums.
Probably blew the shock absorber or strut, and damaged the steel belts of the tire, causing the bumpy ride. Get it looked at soon.
