There are as many ways to extract metals as there are metals. It depends on: 1) what form the metal containing mineral is in 2) what is the composition of the metal containing mineral (oxide, silicate, carbide, carbonate, etc) 3) what other metals (impurities) are present 4) how pure does the final product need to be. This is the field of extractive metallurgy. If your project is to cover all aspects of extractive metallurgy, you have laid out a significant project, there are graduate level university programs just on the fundamental processes.
If there are 50 different metals in commercial use, then there are at least 100 different ways of extracting thos metals form their ores. Really have to be more specific. Pick a metal, and look it up on wikipedia, it will list the extraction methods.
