Question:

What do I need???

I'm going to try to explain myself the best I can...Ok...When my furance turns on with the pilot, (like where the flame is) ...it blows the flame towards the door(to protect the inside I guess)...Really far out.... Like if the wind was blowing on it...And I can see some cracks on the side...Does this mean I need a new Heat Exchanger or something...Please help ... I don't want my house to burn down...

Answer:

Yes, if you see daylight from the inside or, flames from the outside , it's a good indication your heat exchanger is in need of attention. Call your heating contractor to check it out for sure.
If you have cracks in the furnace , DO NOT USE, as this could feed gas fumes into your home . have it checked by gas company.
Have a profestional look at it to be on the safe side. I`m not seeing what you are seeing and don`t want to guess on this one.
Your flame is blowing through cracks or holes in your exchanger or from some portion of the gas feed (the latter distributes the main gas supply to each of the burners) due to gas pressure. You had better get someone to look at it very very soon. If you are lucky, you have an out of whack distribution housing. If you are not, you have an exchanger that is forcing flame where it should not go. Exchangers are expensive, but if that is the only problem, you could be lucky and just have to replace it if it is still available, instead of the entire furnace. Other answers are right--you got a major problem anytime gas goes where it isn't supposed to. If it is a leak, the gas company will come anytime of day. Do you smell gas? If so, call the utility immediately. Otherwise, there are tons of HVAC companies out there who will respond very quickly for a service check and tell you what you need. JUST DON'T WAIT! It won't resolve itself.
monoxide poising is very likely. you do have a bad heat exchangercarbon
