Question:

What does the &alarm& part of a 3 alarm fire mean?

I always hear newscasters saying 3 alarm, 4 alarm, etc. fire, but they never explain what alarm means.

Answer:

I agree with video taping him. Call the cops and show them, as well as animal control. Write up a complaint. Then show the parents. It's sad that no matter how well we train our dogs and socialize them, all it takes is one bad seed to disturb a dog so much they forget about training and begin reacting. Tell the parents you will file a report on their kid VERY time you see the kid do this. Dang! Since the arents don't want to raise their kid, then you have to make the choice to protect your dog but also, teach this kid that not everything is at his disposal. This kid NEEDS to learn this is not acceptable behavior. This kid needs to be a productive member of society someday. What he is learning from his parents now is all is ok as long as you dn't get caught.
Report the little brat. Call the police - it's animal cruelty. I'd scream at that punk - and his idiotic mother - like there was no tomorrow if that stupid little kid was tormenting my dog. I'd also stop bringing your dog over to see your fiance's Mom's place. Just for the dog and your safety. You and your dog shouldn't have to deal with stupid little kids like that. Record him on video if you can.
Fix the problem directly with the kid(s). They are accustomed to mistreating dogs and probably fear them since the only reaction they get is very angry. So try socializing the kids just like you would a nervous dog. Invite the kids over for whatever bs reason and have them quietly interact with the dog. If you humanize the dog to them, make the kids see that the dog they're tormenting has feelings and is actually kinda friendly, it might fix your problem AND make the world a better place.
I'm doing basic obedience right now. My trainer hasn't once handled my dog. He has shown me how to handle my dog by using his own dog but that's about it. The reasoning is that I need to learn how to do these basic corrections and what not myself. Learn more
had the same thing happen to me about 6 months ago. it seemed like it had plenty of air flow outside at the outlet bet i guess it was not enough. pulled apart the vent and it was only 1/2 inch thick but that was all it took to prevent the close from drying. if you have a long run more then just coming out of the dryer and out make sure that you are using smooth vent pipe and not the flex pipe all the way. try to use as little of the flex as you can. the more smooth pipe and shorter the run the faster it will dry. if you have one of those remote digital oven thermometer's stick in the dryer and run it for a few to see what temp it is running at. and that will tell you if the temp sensor is ok or bad usually there are two sensors. one for high and one for low. on low it should be 110 or 115 degrees, and on high 140 degrees. good luck
