Well keep in mind that food additives are just chemicals, they are pretty safe in moderation. People whine about the things in our food these days but it has a relatively low impact as long as you don't go crazy with dyed/preserved foods. Impacts (however easily avoided they may be) can be anything from cancer to kidney failure. Its really just like anything else, too much and you die.
I do believe from observing my 3 little ones that food additives are a major reason for the heightened AD HD bombarding our kids these days. Allergies, hyperactivity of all types or the opposite lethargy listlessness inability to concentrate for a given period of time. Everyday a new study somewhere in the world comes out about some type of chemical that was once thought of as safe and is now found to be dangerous. I have my own little garden and grow organic vegetables. My kids have been doing so much better in all areas. After all you are what you eat.
