i have a desktop, my husband has a desktop. i'm connected to his by wireless, we have dsl. i have a laptop and it has a built in wireless, how can i connect that to the internet ? and what is a data cable ?
You will need a router so you guys have have multiple workstations hanging off your DSL modem. Get a Linksys Wireless router and you can use that to connect your laptop to the Internet via a wireless connection. If you want to connect it using a data cable go to the store and ask for a CAT 5 cable. it can be used to connect your laptop to the router via the RJ-45 port (the connector will look like a large phone cord connector).
