What is the difference between a lightning arrester and a lightning rod?
A lightning arrester is an electrical appliance used to protect electrical equipment from high transient overvoltages, to limit the duration of flow, and often to limit continued flow. This term contains any external clearances necessary for the normal functioning of the appliance when it is running, regardless of whether it is a part of the whole.
The lightning rod is installed in a metal bar at the top of tall buildings, with a wire to the metal bar and buried together in a metal plate underground, with a conductive tip discharge and the metal of the metal rod, so that the clouds with the large area of electric power is directly neutralized, so as to protect the buildings. Avoid lightning.
The difference between lightning arrester and lightning arrester is a component, a device that is with its own functions; and lightning is part of a system, multi round produced, and connecting wire, grounding wire to form a system to play the function of lightning protection.
