Ironically, I just dealt with that problem in my home yesterday. I have 7 alarms, all interconnected. If one goes off, they all go off. You'll have to get a copy of the smoke alarm owner manual. They will tell you which alarm is causing the false alarm (coded red light flash). I solve my problem by getting a can of compressed air and blowing out the dust in all of the alarms. My owner manual says I should do that once a month.
