i live in Alberta and the forecast says its going to be -50c so i dont know whether or not to blanket them because i have heard that if they have snow on there back to not blanket them so i dont know when to blanket them
i blanket my horses when the temp drops under 20 degrees f so what ever that is in C should be fine, make sure your horse is always dry if they are wet bring them inside place a fleece rug on them or a cooler give them some hay until dry, on really damp days were its super cold and just nasty out i normally will keep my horses in, my horses enjoy the snow even just putting a light sheet on them thats water proof to keep the wet out will work fine, but for the most part i use blankets sparingly and let my horses get a real nice thick winter coat its easier in my opinion, if its freezing cold out i put a medium wight blanket on them, if its super windy and just a little chilly outside sometimes depending on how cold it is there kicked out with no blanket or just a sheet to keep the draft out, use your own judgment basically if you just keep your horse inside on really nasty days and just give a little extra hay than normal they will be fine if they have not been blanketed yet just use it sparingly and only on extreme days hope this helps some
Keep it in a dish of water in the fridge works for carrot sticks and radish roses too
I always wash and trim my celery when I bring it home from the grocery store; then I wrap it in paper towels (because it is still wet) and put in a ziploc bag, but don't close itIt stays fresh in my refrigerator bottom drawer for a couple of weeks.
Refrigerate the entire head, unwashed, in a Green bag loosely folded overIt should last a number of weeksGreen bags remove the gases that build up in traditional plastic bags, and these gases are responsible for food spoilageIf the celery wilts some, pull it apart and soak in cold water with lots of iceYou'll get crisp all right!
PUT IT IN COLD WATER IN THE FRIDGETHE COLD WATER KEEPS IT CRISP
