Question:

Where can i get new threads for my cars axle?

I was installing a new axle in my passenger side of my lancer evolution 9 mr I kinda hit it with a hammer a bit and the threads messed up and now the nut wont go in i tried putting it with a air gun but it just made my threads worse and now the nut is also messed up. i was wondering if somebody here in denver can make new threads? I cant afford a tap and die set for a 32mm nut , so i was wondering if there‘s somewhere i can take it to get it re threaded? I bought the axle in ebay and i need it now so i cant return it plus i bought it 6 months ago and i burly had time to put it now, but i messed up the threads.

Answer:

obtain a thread repair file. It will deepen the grooves enough to re thread thr nut.
goto napa or menards and get something to rethread it or buy a new outter axle piece those are your only 2 options. or take it to a napa most have tool shops you can have rethread it.
Better to run a 3/4 , rule of thumb if and when it splits the 3rd time it should be a 3/4 feed up to that point. It will work but not good
