I was quoated a pretty reasonable price but everyone I tell has never heard of these--are they a decent tire? Thx!
buy 5 qts of fluid (dextron II for gm's, mercon for all others). add the five qts to tranny. roll vehicle to the 'RUNWAY. gently REDLINE the heck out of the engine while in D position-or r if you like it backwards. with foot resting on accellerator, on the floor after about 5-10 seconds your car will launch down the runway, however, if cv axles (if equipped) are blown, you'll just hear lots of grinding. if trans is bad, you are not going anywhere soon except the mechanic's shop.
ALMOST ALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS ARE BASICALLY A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM LIKE YOUR BRAKES WHICH BASICALLY MEANS THAT IT TRANSFERS ENERGY THROUGH HYDROSTATIC RESISTANCE OF FLUID SO IF IT HAS LEAKED AND HAS LESS FLUID IN IT CAUSES LESS POWER THAT CAUSES INTERNAL DRIVE CLUTCH ASSEMBLIES TO FULLY ACTUATE SO THE ENGINE JUST SPINS AGAINST THEM WHICH INTURN CAUSES DAMAGE TO THE SELECTIVE THRUST WASHERS AND THE CLUTCH LININGS.THIS CAUSES A DEBRIS IN THE SYSTEM THAT CAN CLOG THE TRANS OIL FILTER AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER (THE PART THAT BOLTS TO THE FLYWHEEL.SOMETIMES YOU CAN AFTER FIXING THE LEAK PUT A CHEAP FILTER IN AND TOP OFF THE FLUID AND IT WILL STILL WORK IF THERE AREN'T BIG CHUNKS OR BLACK FLUID IN THE OIL PAN.SMELL THE DIPSTICK DOES LOOK BLACK OR SMELL BURNED?TRANSMISSIONS CAN SOMETIMES BE ONLY PARTLY REBUILT.YOU HAVE THE OPTION TO REMOVE YOUR OWN AND TAKE IT TO THE TRANSMISSION MECHANIC FOR REPAIR TO SAVE MONEY.SHOP AROUND LOOK FOR A GARAGE WITH TOO MANY CARS OUT FRONT HE IS CHEAPER!
I believe Delta is a Cooper owned brand. They are reasonably well distributed but like all private-label tires are not the ultimate tire out there. For some applications they can be a pretty decent deal though.
decent price for a cheap tire.best buy a name brand for a few more bucks and you will get more running out of them . im a tire guy heres what you say whats your cheapest tire in size------ and then after they tell you ask about another one that one will be the better tire id pass one them sorry but you dont want cheap tire they dont last no time better to spend a bit more and get one that will last longer
