Why are shocks on rear axle vehicles stagerd?
It's to control axle wind-up. When the rear wheels turn they apply a force to the rear axle which makes it want to twist toward the front of the car. By staggering the shocks, it counteracts that force, and helps keep all the driveline parts aligned.
