Question:

Why do magnetic materials exhibit magnetic properety?

Only some metals are magnetic. What is the reason for metals like iron to show property of magnetism?

Answer:

bcoz the atoms in metals align themselves where as in other materials atoms r so hither tither that they cant align themselves
In addition to alignment the magnetic materials don't hold on to their electrons as much as non-magnetic materials. It is this freedom of the electrons to move that allows for the magnetism because magnetism arises from the movement of electrically charged particles (such as electrons).
