Question:

Why does my Budgie nibble my blanket?

I have two BudgiesOne of them is a nibbler, which is fineI like when he nibbles my handBut my worry is that yesterday he was nibbling my blanket and also my couchIs this normal? Should I worry about it eating a fiber and dying? I moved him over to his play thing so he would stop.I recently read that Budgies need a way to keep their beak trimmed and a cuttlebone isn't good enough because it is too softWhat can they chew on?Thank you!

Answer:

Cuttle-bone should be enoughTry to feed it a good pellet food and give a half teaspoon of parakeet seeds each day.
Range ammo is normally less-expensive, but sometimes it is frangible or lead-freeIn the case of cartridges for semi-automatic pistols, it will normally have a full metal jacketHome defense ammo is designed to inflict maximum damage on an intruder or assailant and may have a hotter powder charge and will most likely be some variation of a hollow point for expansionIn .45 ACP, your range ammo should work just fine for home defense through the full metal jacket might have a bit more penetration than you'd likeFull-metal jacket ammo in .45 ACP has been used as a military round since the first World War so I wouldn't worry about it in a defense situation.
Usually, range ammo is ball or perhaps semi-wad cutter ammo Home defense ammo tends to be specially crafted Hollow point ammo designed to be ultra reliable and also cause maximum shock and damage in the intended target.
This is not a good question to be asking - I am concernedConcerned because a firearm used for personal protection should be 'proof fired' at least 400 rounds to break it in and verify it works correctlyEspecially the various spare magazines - one bad mag and your 45 becomes a slammer-jammerIf you have bothered to do this - it would mean you had already purchased at least 8 boxes of ammo over the last monthand you should have figured out the differentI used to build match 45's and I am a former military Olympic Class 45 shooterGenerally, any ammo with enough power to properly cycle a 45 auto is going to stop someone in thier tracksYou have that going for youOn the other hand - you must keep track of what company's ammo you are using, it's bullet style, and in particular - the bullet weightBecause a 45 that works great with Winchester 185gr Hollow Points can jam and choke on another companies Personal Defense ammoAbout the only thing for sure with 45 ammo - nearly all 230 grain Full metal jacket (FMJ) will work flawlessly - usually - assuming their is not a problem with the gunFor personal defense - it is very important to number your spare mags and cycle them at the range to verify they work great Hope this helps
