I have a dell laptop which i brought last year (2013) and lost the charger, therefore i brought a new charger online, until now the charger was fine but now my laptop says my charger is incorrect and is not charging my laptop. Is it the laptop's or charger's fault? What do i do?
Dell chargers have a internal chip that communicates with the laptop, if the chip isn't in the charger, dell computers will not charge. The problem is that some people would use the incorrect chargers and literally blow up their laptops. Dell got sued for a few of these and decided to block third party chargers.
You have to make sure that the charger is the same voltage as the battery. If they aren't the same, the Laptop will detect that it won't work.
You might just have a bad charger.Check amazon and fine one that has high user rating.I've been using a third party charger on my dell for a year and haven't had any problems.Or order one from dell.
