It opens a few inches then stops. Push the button again it goes back down and then up a few inches and stops again. do it again and it closes and opens all the way. Its not the eye because the eye makes the light flash off and on when the beam is broken. There is a lot of slack in the main strut from the door to the motor. Might that have something to do with it?
if you call a repair Tell them to bring one for your door ( 8 x 7 or 16 x 7 )so they can change it if if it can't be fixed.sometime the main spring gets sprung, it acts as a counter weight to the door & then the operator can lift it - if it's not wound the door wont open.
Could be as simple as oiling all the rollers. Really, you did state that the door eventually opens. When I say oiling the rollers I’m not just talking about the tracks, I mean the rollers themselves. Buy a can of light oil that has a long tube on the end. Not necessarily WD40 there are oil based oil applicators. Squeeze the oil between the shaft and roller itself you’ll be amazed.
relies upon on what type of springs you've. once you've pressure springs (the lengthy, stretchy, kind) the door will function notwithstanding that's going to attempt to curl contained in the tracks, ultimately jamming the door. once you've torsion springs (the rolled up kind) that's yet another difficulty. doors with 2 torsion springs will function typically with in simple terms one spring notwithstanding the second one is there as a backup. If the springs are previous, the single ultimate operating spring would wreck below the recent weight. i'd get it fixed if it replaced into mine. you could replace the pressure springs truly actually yet in the adventure that they are torsion springs i'd have a professional do it.
