Question:

Why would my kitchen faucet suddenly stop giving the hot water?

I was filling a large basin with hot water. Suddenly there was a 'thump' and the water stopped running. I pushed the handle back and got cold water, then to the right and got cold water. But when I pushed the handle all the way to the left to get hot water, no water came out at all. The bathroom faucet gives hot water when I turn the handle and the bath faucet gives hot water. What happened to my kitchen faucet?

Answer:

Sounds like you need a new cartrige in your faucet. Usualy not a hard fix. turn off water to hot and cold underneath faucet, remove handle and faucet parts untill the valve is free. then replace. Google the faucet you have and you should finde a vidio on how to do it.
Old water heaters get sediment, calcium deposits and other gunk. Maybe a chunk clogged the kitchen pipe?
It's some kind of valve in the lines of your kitchen faucet and hoses. There are different places that can be. First make sure the lines under the sink aren't kinked (yes, even a sprayer that pulls out from the side can cause this). After that, you will have to pull apart the faucet.
