I have a fire alarm in my room and i wanted to know if the smoke will set it off? i will set it up in the corner away from the alarm and where i have 2 windows in the corner that i will have open. And to the people who are against smoking (not saying this in a mean way) but i dont want you commenting that smoking is bad please. thank you
lightning rods act as a ground so that the dramatic increase in voltage doesn't create a current so high that every lightbulb in the building will shatter and anything conductive will act as a deathtrap :P traditionally, they do not capture the energy but there are contraptions out there that do this, however they are incredibly dangerous to be around when it strikes.
