Question:

Will I be able to start my car after I disarm the alarm if it has a starter kill?

To be more specific, I plan on buying a car alarm system for my car and it comes with an alarm system and a starter kill.My main concern is, if my alarm goes off and the starter kill does its job, will I be able to start my car if i deactivate the alarm with the Key Fob? Or do I have to install anything new?

Answer:

With any alarm system, if you can disarm it normally using the fob, you won't have any problem starting the car. The starter kill isn't something that has to be reset after it's triggered. It's just a relay that breaks the connection to the starter wire if someone tries to start the engine while the alarm is armed. There are different methods of wiring a starter kill relay, but in every case if the alarm is working properly and has been disarmed, it won't prevent you from starting the car.
Some car alarm systems have the ability to make the car start with the alarm working, but that is for low end variants. Confirm this feature from the dealer before purchasing.
