I just bought a used 2001 Monte Carlo and the window wipers stay up all the time. They work, but when I stop using them they go back to being parallel. Does anyone know how to fix this or has had the same problem with their wipers and knows how to fix it?? Please help!!
The wiper motor has a built in switch that is responsible to keep power on until it completes it's cycle at the bottom. I'm not sure it is adjustable. You may have to work with the motor assy to find out and the only other way for you to get them to stop where they need to be is get a new motor assy or you could remove the constant power supply wire going to the motor plug and then they will stop where you turn them off, just like when you turn off the key.
It sounds like the wiper has come loose and needs repositioning. Take the wipers off and operate the wipers and when they stop attach the wipers to the motor and try them and they should be fine.
