My mom has a 2002 or 2003 buick century and when u turn the windshied wiper blades off they stop in the middle of the windshield standing straight up. Its been happening for about a yr now but when you turn them on they wrk any idea how to fix this?
My guess is the gearing has slipped you could force them down when they are off and see what happens(this may break them however) or you could remove the wiper blade arm by removing the cover at the base of the arm and undoing the nut. Then remove the arm and turn it to the right position and replace the nut and cover

either replace the motor or replace the board on the motor because what happened is that the wiper motor got stressed out and the board said nope not gonna die today so in the middle we go.
