so, i made the STUPID mistake of turning on my windshielf wipers as a way of wiping the thick snow off of my my winshield this morning, so dumb, i knowand it instantly made this terrible noise, so i shuit the care off took the snow off with my hands fixed the wipers and turned the car back on and their was that noise again.i think it may be the wiper motor.who has been in this situation and what kind of damange to you propose i may have done? i have a 2006 nissan sentra if it makes any differencethanks!
Been there done that!! I had a Honda that did that. What most likely happened was the linkage joint has popped off. At that age of car you should be able to order the grommets and cap to replace the one that popped off. You'll have to look and see how to gain access to the wiper motor and control rods and determine if your mechanically inclined enough to get to them and make the repair. They should be accessed outside the car on imports. Open the hood, remove the wiper arms, and look for the retainers for the large black plastic cover that goes across the car there at the base of the windshield. Remove that and you should see the whole assembly and be able to determine which link popped off. A Nissan shop should be able to do the repair for under $150.
depends on the quality of the suspension design/set up and the smoothness of your pedaling.
50 bucks maybe a wiper arm cost under that a wiper motor doesnt cost much more a shop to check it call three local shops ask how much it might be under a 100 bucks goo d bet
I dont think anyone could top Badbadles answer on this one! Perfect
At worst you've stripped the gears on the windshield motor/wiper link. Think you'll have to throw yourself on the mercy of your local mechanic. He might be able to sort it out with parts from a breaker's yard so the cost wouldn't be so horrendous as all new bits from a main dealer.
