We're taking out a door want to side over it, without the outline of the door remainingWe don't want you to be able to tell a door used to be thereCan we hang siding over the old siding (all old aluminum siding - in good shape), spanning the gap of the door (which of course will be framed boarded in)? This section of house (8' high by about 10' wide) that would have 2 layers of siding is bordered by another door on the left a window on the right, so there will be an easy end to the double-sided area, it won't be quot;sticking outquot; on the edges or anything. If not, how come?
As previous poster said, it is a personal thingIt is up to you what you want to put in the journalI would suggest: A photo of the completed item The date you started and finished The type of yarn used.maybe a small piece included The pattern or where you found it Who it was made for If you sold item what you charged Any tips you found to make it easier Comments on what you liked/disliked about the project You can get a nice 3 ring photo type album and buy page protectors to put in itEach of the pages has an opening at the top so you can insert all things in the pagesUse 1 protector page for each project you do.
This such a personal thingEveryone would want to record different thingsSome people just list all the yarns in their stashOthers keep a list of all the items they want to knitThose who knit for others record the measurements of their customers, amount of yarn used charges etc.

No it will be impossible to seal the top row unless you remove several rows of the old sidingThen you are going to have a problem with two layers when you but up against the existing window and doorThe trim there is designed for one layerit would look way better if you simply removed all the old siding in that area and replaced itIt would also be easier to redo it than side over from the view point of attaching it and sealing it.
